My story starts like many of yours, an otaku-geek fueled by a love for all things nerdy, from fan art and cosplay to video games and anime. Inspired by heroes in comic books and fantasy novels, I lived my life trying to do good, save the day, and make the world a better place. But there was a nagging dissonance. How could I truly be the good guy, when I was paying to have animals tortured and killed for me? The more I learned, the more my excuses started to crumble. Then I realized: carnism wasn't inevitable, it was just habitual. Veganism wasn't impossible, it was just different.

Finding My Clan
 

Going vegan was actually ridiculously easy; food, clothing, and cosmetics were all accessible, plentiful, and affordable. The hard part was feeling alone afterwards. Sure, there were plenty of movie stars, musicians, and athletes in the vegan movement, but where were the vegan cosplayers, the animal-defending voice actors, the plant-based fan artists? That's why I created Vegan Otaku-Geeks – a place where fandom meets plant-powered fun.
